The journey of Rebong began in 2013, when the brand first emerged under the name Kotak Hitam Clothing. At that time, it was driven by a simple passion — to create clothing that represented the raw energy of youth, underground culture, and independent creativity.
As the brand grew, so did its perspective.
The journey slowly led deeper into the rich heritage of the Nusantara world — a region filled with centuries of history, symbolism, art, folklore, and Islamic influence. These elements became the soul behind the designs.
On 21 November 2017, the brand entered a new chapter and evolved into Rebong Streetwear.
The name Rebong refers to the bamboo shoot, a powerful symbol found across Nusantara culture. It represents growth, resilience, and the beginning of something greater. Just like the rebung that grows into strong bamboo, the brand reflects the idea of continuous growth and cultural roots.
Since then, Rebong has continued to explore the intersection between heritage and street culture — blending traditional philosophy with modern street aesthetics.
Every design carries fragments of Nusantara identity — from traditional motifs and historical references to folklore and spiritual symbolism.
Rebong is more than just a clothing label.
It is a platform to preserve, reinterpret, and reintroduce Nusantara heritage to a new generation — through the language of the streets.
